Re: [CCCure CISSP] CISSPstudy Digest, Vol 68, Issue 20

Hi Eugene,

This is a concern that many might be having. What I did was to read the question and come up with a correct answer according to my understanding of the topic on which the question is presented and then I picked the one that was close/exact match according to me. This helped me in understanding what I lack and how accurate/correctly I understand the topics.

Cheers,

Nagarajan

Good Morning,

I have been reading the forums up and down. Here is my question. I am using the quiz engine to prepare for the CISSP exam. I understand that over 80% on each domain you should feel comfortable. But this is what I see happening. All incorrect answers on quizzes I read the explanation and then when I take the exams again I select the correct answer but I am worried that I am picking the correct answer out of memorization not facts. I feel like it's a bad habit and something that may be detrimental to my studies.

Any thoughts

Re: [CCCure CISSP] CISSPstudy Digest, Vol 68, Issue 20

Marouane
From my experience, it is good to have a solid base of CISSP domains, but memorizing every bit of it is not really NOT necessary. Yes, you need to understand how the OSI Layers are and what runs on those, similarly the TCP/IP layers, etc ... (that can be from memorization) but most of the questions do really  target your deep understanding of the materials. You need to be able to go through scenarios, and think of what you would do as a risk advisor in those type of scenarios. You need to be able to filter out the bad or not the best questions and watch out for words like MOST, LEAST, etc ... Trust me no matter how many times I say that, some people will still miss questions because they have not properly read the question(s). At the end of the day, only the best answer (to whatever topic/context) always wins.

Re: [CCCure CISSP] CISSPstudy Digest, Vol 68, Issue 20

Good day to all,

I am sorry for being silent lately.  I have been burning the midnight oil and running out of time.

For the people who are worried about remembering all of the 1500 Questions, i think you have a very interesting problem.  If you can remember the responses, it means you're doing fine.   The onus is on you taking the exam to really answer according to whether or not you understand the question.  If you review anything you miss then you should be fine for your exam.

I totally agree that you should do quizzes from a few source.  That will prepare you for the VERY unique style they use on the real exam.  If you know the topics well, then they can throw any style of question to you and you will be able to answer.

DRAG AND DROP AND HOTSPOTS QUESTIONS

Please visit www.cccure.me and look under the CISSP menu, you will find my new quiz to practice those new questions now showing up on the exam.  I have only about a dozen right now.  Be patient, those questions takes a long time to develop and they are not easy to simulate.

I welcome your feedback and input.

SCENARIO BASED QUESTIONS

You can find a FULL set of scenario based questions at:
https://www.cccure.com/cart/categories/CISSP-Scenario-Based-Questions/

We are selling this set for the simple reason that I had to pay a few people to produce them and get the whole set developed.  It took weeks of work to come out with this full set.   Unfortunately I cannot give everything away.  I do need money to continue adding and maintaining the quiz.    I have just contracted two person to do the CISA questions and the CASP questions as well.   Finding good questions writers is tough and people do not work for free.

Best regards

Clement
